PUBLIC LIBRARY Guadalajara, Mexico

The brief for this competition called for a large library at the heart of a new cultural center in Mexico's second largest city. Joining forces with local firms Studio Fernanda Vuilleumier and Carlos Santoscoy Arquitectos, the project was conceived as the physical manifestation of the library's role as an informational, cultural, and physical urban connection point. The crisscrossed form offers simple wayfinding and dramatic entry atriums on all four sides of the building.
